INSIDERS GUIDE TO VILLARS

A TASTER OF VILLARS, SWITZLERLAND

One of the smaller resorts in Switzerland but a favourite, we absolutely love the authentic vibe Villars has going on. If you are looking for a proper Alpine chocolate box resort, look no further this is it!!

How to get there

A mere 90 minutes from Geneva, either get the direct train to Aigle and then pop on the bus up to Villars or quick transfer away.

Where to ski

Bretaye is the main hub of the resort with a number of lovely slopes but if you are in the mood to explore a bit more be sure to ski across to Les Diablerets & Les Chaux - long runs and beautiful scenery makes for the perfect skiing day.

Where to stay

Best hotel in town is hands down Royalp, this hidden gem is secluded back from the town surrounded by the beautiful mountains and trees, ALS also have a number of beautiful private chalets dotted throughout Villars, Barboleuse & Gryon.

Where to eat

On the slopes it has to be L'etable in Les Chaux, idyllically set off the slopes, this farm animal restaurant is perfect for young families, as not only is the food absolutely delicious (think rosti, fondue, raclette …) you have the added bonus of sharing this with the goat, cow & donkeys that live in the barn next door.

Crumbs is the perfect place to grab a quick delicious snack and they also have the BEST cookies in town ;).

Where to party

Finish your day with a cold glass of wine overlooking the empty slopes at Jimmys Bar & then head down to Villars to start the night at Moon Boot, definitely in for a good time!!
