Kakslauttanen is in the heart of Finland: a real winter wonderland. Here, you can sleep under the stars, and watch the Northern Lights dancing as you fall asleep. Alternatively, the resort offers a range of lodges and other igloos, including a snow igloo or your own lodge with a private garden and sauna.

As well as the unbelievable accommodation, Kakslauttanen offers a number of activities throughout the year. In the winter, enjoy husky or reindeer safaris, snowmobile or snowbank rides, horse riding or sleigh rides, and ice fishing. As well as these opportunities so see the surrounding wildlife and arctic landscape, you can go skiing and cross-country skiing, take a ride on an icebreaker, or go hunting for the Northern Lights, whether you want to see them from a horse drawn carriage, on the back of a husky sled, or on skis. 

During the autumn you can continue your hunt for the Northern Lights, or try your hand at gold panning in the nearby river, canoeing, mountain biking, berry and mushroom picking or ATV riding. The resort also offers a cruise on the river, where you can enjoy the views and listen while your guide recounts tales of gold panning, reindeer herding, and the Sami cultures. The trip will then finish with a visit to the Sami museum. Come summer, the lodge offers many ways to experience the endless sunlight, with midnight sun tours, kayaking, and day trips to a reindeer farm on a remote island.
