THE HOTEL

All individual parts come together here high on the rock to form an atmospheric whole. The location, the architecture and the design are one component. But the most important element is you, our guest, with your individual wishes and needs to which we respond with personal service in an informal way. Here you should feel at ease, you should quite simply be yourself. This is the place for unvorgettable moments in calmth and harmony.

The Omnia is the contemporary interpretation of the traditional mountain lodge. Here in the Swiss Alps, the mountain lodge, a quintessentially American concept, has been reinvented for its European environment by the New York based architect Ali Tayar (1959 – 2016). This dialogue between two cultures was the starting point for the design.

While the materials and the craftsmanship reflect the tradition of the Valais, the furnishings are inspired by a warm, handcrafted modernism. This era in 20th century design is revisited in THE OMNIA in the works of a group of European born, American designers whose European roots heavily influenced the American scene. They include Mies van der Rohe, Raymond Loewy, Vladimir Kagan and Eero Saarinen. Their works are complemented by USM Modular Furniture, which is recognised as a design classic in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. But most of the interior furnishings and fittings are custom-made designs by Ali Tayar, conceived to meet the requirements of the mountain lodge and handcrafted by local cabinet makers.

No room is identical to the others. They vary in layout and sizes, ranging from Queen Size rooms (24m²) to Double Deluxe rooms (45m²), the Suites (70m²), the Tower Suites (90m²) and, finally, the OMNIA Roof Suite (110m²).

Our wellness centre with its mystical ambience offers pure relaxation. It comprises an indoor/outdoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, caldarium, petal steam room, relaxation room and outdoor whirlpool with a view of the village and the Matterhorn. The facilities also include a gymnasium with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and two rooms for individual massage treatments, yoga and Pilates. High-quality products from Aesop and Farfalla are used during treatments.

Our guests are treated to contemporary, unpretentious cuisine prepared by our Executive Chef Hauke Pohl, whose dishes are defined by authentic flavours and seasonal ingredients, with quality enjoying the highest priority. Hauke Pohl cooks with love and passion. His interpretation of outstanding cuisine focuses on a creative and experimental approach using the best products available.
