THE HARDANGER FJORD LODGE

In the heart of Norway, the Hardanger Lodge offers a mix of sailing, fishing and skiing, amongst many other activities, including yoga and walking. The lodge itself was build in 1934, and since then has been renovated several times by different owners, and now has a charm that is very rustic and unique. Over the summer you can enjoy drinks at the beautiful bar on the pier, and all throughout the year the restaurant serves beautifully cooked local produce.

The closest skiing to the lodge is the Folgefonna Summer Ski Centre, on one of Norways most beautiful glaciers. Enjoy skiing between May and August, Hardangers team will be happy to drive you there everyday. There are two other ski resorts, Voss and Roldal, close to the lodge, as well as ski-touring and glacier tours. However, some would say the main attraction of the Hardanger Lodge is its proximity to the Trolltunga Hike. This incredible hike goes through the mountains, and is a 23km round trip. The hike is open from mid-June to mid-September, depending on the snow melting, and takes you up to the Trolltunga rock, where you can enjoy breathtaking views with your lunch before starting your descent. The Hardanger Lodge is also close to the historical Jondal pilgrim walk, an eight hour trek, as well as 35 other hiking trails.

On the aquatic side of things, you can rent a boat and enjoy the wildlife and the breathtaking fjord. Hardangers boat can take up to 11 people, and makes for an excellent day out. Kayaking and fishing are also on offer, where you can catch salmon, cod, mackerel and much more. When you return to the lodge the kitchen team will help you cook your daily catch, and you can enjoy it for dinner!
